3. When they find the right house they don't act quickly enough and the seller accepts another offer in the interim.

4. They don't do enough to make their offer look appealing to a seller.

5. They think they can buy a house for much less than it's actual market value and ignore  comparable properties that their agent prepares.

6. They don't think about resale before they buy. The average first time buyer only stays in their home for four years.
