Where Are Home Prices Going?
Pulsenomics does a Home Price Expectation Study every quarter which involves asking over 100 real estate industry experts, economists, and investment and market strategists about where they think home prices are headed over the next five years. They then average the projections into a single number.
The most recent results are:
Home values will appreciate by 4.5% in 2014.
The average annual appreciation will be 3.94% over the next 5 years.
The cumulative appreciation will be 19.7% by 2018.
Out of all the participants in the survey the most negative projection was a cumulative appreciation of 11%.
We see average prices rising close to 4% this year in greater Lansing and staying close the historical norm of 3.8% in the subsequent 4 years.
