Simple Tricks for Getting Your Garage Organized This Summer

It’s officially summer, and that means spending more time outdoors! Though a lot of outdoor activities tend to focus on equipment that needs to be kept in your garage, and if you have to dig through clutter to find your tent, or the kids can’t get their bikes out of the garage due to clutter than that can put a damper on everyone’s summer fun.

We came up with some tips and tricks to easily and quickly organize your garage without making it a huge overwhelming project.

The first trick is to separate your garage into zones. In other words, identify your garage zones based on your needs, for example:  a car zone, active equipment zone, storage zone, lawn zone, etc.

Second, it’s time to consolidate! Think bins and shelves, if you can condense items into bins or have certain shelves for certain items like campaign equipment, pool equipment, etc. it will not only make things easier to find but it will make your space look more appeasing to the eye.

Lastly is where we come to the fun part, LABELING! That’s right, time to get out your label maker or tap and sharpie and label away! If you know what is in bins by just being able to look at the label the easier your life will be.

All this organizing also has a big bonus especially if you can’t pull into your garage, by cleaning it up over the summer your garage will be nice, clean and ready to tuck your car away during those cold winter months!
