How to Find the Best Realtor to Sell Your Home

With hundreds of Realtors® in the greater Lansing area, if can be difficult to choose an agent when you’re gearing up to sell your home. That’s why we’ve put together quick tips on what to do and look for when narrowing down the search for a seller's agent.

Research the Company

find seller agent

A lot can be said about the way a company performs as a whole when choosing an agent that works under that brand (with some exceptions, of course). If the company has a large presence in your local area, has received recognition for superior performance or even has a nice website with resources for you to access and use, the chances are high that this same quality will be reflected in its agents as well.

Ask Around

One of the most common ways people have found listing real estate agents in the past is through referrals. Do you have a trusted friend or family member that has worked with an agent previously? Ask them about it. They might have good insight into which company or agent to go with (or even to avoid).

Look Into Their Reviews

Another great resource is agent reviews or testimonials. This can give you the same useful information that a trusted resource could and give you insight into the quality and types of services as agent provides. You can check out sites like RatedAgent.com or view specific company websites and personal agent websites for recent reviews.

Interview Agents

It’s okay to spend a little time getting to know a couple agents. Not every agent is going to be the perfect fit for you, your location or your home. Ask them about their selling style and how they typically work with their clients. You’ll want to work with an agent that fits your needs and can be the best advocate for you and your home.
