Announcing DASH – Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate’s Training Program
Real Estate’s New Comprehensive Approach to Training
Nationwide real estate leader Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate launches new training program aimed at local real estate expertise, enhancing skill for both new and experienced agents.
GRAND RAPIDS – The professionalism and quality of care clients experience with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate has now been brought to the forefront with the launch of a companywide customized training program. To implement and oversee this program, Bill Pearl of Grand Rapids has been named the Director of Training for the statewide brokerage.
Termed DASH—Developing Attitudes, Skills and Habits, the comprehensive training program was designed to offer professional development to agents at all experience levels, leveraging in-depth local knowledge and experience.
“Typical real estate training programs shouldn’t be considered training at all. It’s just lecture, webinar or video learning,” said Pearl. “A better solution is to approach real estate training as ‘skills’ training. It’s essential that we develop the agents’ skills—that they leave with skills in every facet of running a successful real estate business.”
A REALTOR® has substantial impact on the quality of clients’ lives through assisting them with their housing needs—and Pearl has crafted the training program to reflect this responsibility.
“The training must not be limited to just the explanation of real estate forms, but truly developing the attitude, the skills and the habits needed to have a successful real estate career,” Pearl explained. “We make sure our agents have a written business plan. They know how to generate leads, participate with the community while growing their own brand, as well as the essentials of the legal real estate documents.”
DASH is unique compared to other real estate training programs because rather than relying on videos and webinars from out of state sources, DASH is conducted by local trainers with experience in their local market that they then bring into the training room. Covering 50 communities and over 950 agents, this training course is strategically unique to each locale.
“Real estate is a people business, and learning person to person is substantially more successful than only listening to a webinar,” said Pearl. It also allows for the training to be customizable to an agent’s needs and pre-existing skill sets live in the training room.
Pearl was selected to build this program because of his 21 years of real estate experience from selling to brokerage management. He sees massive opportunity ahead with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate committing to such a comprehensive approach to agent training, which will lead to an unprecedented level of professionalism in the industry.
“Bill has proven success in the industry with developing curriculum and classes that create more successful agents,” said Steve Fase, Broker Owner and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Michigan Real Estate. “We identified that skill in him, and are proud to have him lead the charge for our company.”
“The philosophy is to develop great agents, and continue the high retention rate that Berkshire Hathaway has for both agents and clients,” he said. “The concept, the approach and the commitment to develop the highest quality agents is second to none in our industry.”
Superior training has been a historic principal commitment for the company. DASH and Pearl are the next steps in that foundational goal. Fase views the launch of the new program as a commitment to the agents, continuing the company’s strong pledge to real estate education and learning.
“The program is more than just real estate training—it’s whole person training to ensure our agents find success and growth in their career and personal lives. That comprehensive approach is crucial, and it reflects the mission of our company. Bill is committed to continuing to innovate and adapt to this ever changing industry, and keep our agents ahead of the curve,” explained Fase.
