Wallpaper is Making a Comeback, but is the Trend Worth the Cost?
Who would have thought that we would be debating whether wallpaper is worth the cost but here we are! Wallpaper has returned and we don’t see it leaving anytime soon so we might as well embrace it but figure out how to get the look in a cost-effective way because with the comeback with wallpaper has also come the rise in price.
If you go with the more expensive permanent wallpaper you are stuck with weighing the option of whether it is going to hurt or help you when you go to sell your home, good news is there are now semipermanent options which have a slightly less sticky adhesive that allows you to add that trending wallpaper look while still being able to remove it when inevitably the trend fades or its time to sell your home.
We want you to reconsider if you’re looking at this update for anything other than your personal style because adding wallpaper thinking it will add value to a home before you sell, you’re mistaken. Even if the prospective buyers love the wallpaper you chose in the end it is going to end up being an expense for them (around $750 to remove permanent wallpaper) and they are eventually going to want to add their own style to the home.
So if you choose to make the wallpaper investment just make sure it is because it is something that you love and want to keep for a while not because you want to add value to the sale of your home!
